FLYERS' INJURIES:2 Derian Hatcher (right knee damage) is on injured reserve.
6 Randy Jones (right hip surgery) was expected to be out about two months from early October and is on injured reserve.
UPDATE: Practiced with the team for the first time, November 25. Indications are that he should return to the lineup prior to Christmas and maybe as early as December 16 vs. Colorado.
25 Matt Carle (sore back) did not play the last three games and will not play tonight. He remains day-to-day with an upper body injury, reported as a back injury. The hope is that he can return this weekend (December 13 vs. Pittsburgh).

Carle has missed the last three games with an upper body injury and had an MRI today. “Matt Carle had a MRI done today which was negative," said Holmgren. "He remains day-to-day with an upper body injury. We are hopeful that the anti-inflammatory medicine he has been taking will bring relief soon."
48 Danny Briere is expected to miss about 4-5 weeks from December 3. From Paul Holmgren: "Danny had an MRI today (December 3) on his stomach and groin area. There weren't any issues at all with his stomach but there is a significant groin strain in there and we're looking at Danny to be out of the lineup for 4-5 weeks."
77 Ryan Parent (shoulder surgery) was expected to be out about 12-14 weeks from early October and is on injured reserve.
UPDATE: Practiced with the team for the first time, November 25. He could return in late December.

February 26, 2000 -- The Flyers trounced the Islanders 5-1 at NY as they scored four PPGs, including three in under seven minutes in the middle period. John LeClair scored two goals.
March 5, 2000 -- Despite a 46-shot attack on Kevin Weekes, including six each from Chris Therien and Eric Lindros, the Flyers lost at home 4-3 in OT on a Mariusz Czerkawski tally. The Flyers led 3-1 with less than 10 minutes to play in the third period but the Islanders evened the game with 2:55 to play on a PPG by Jamie Rivers. Philly outshot NY 46-33 but the Islanders had all three shots taken in the extra period. In the first period, the Islanders were penalized for a rare illegal substitution penalty.
June 25, 2000 --- JVB was dealt to the Islanders for a fourth round pick which was later sent to Nashville (Jordin Tootoo).
December 10, 2000 -- The Flyers fired head coach Craig Ramsey and then beat the Islanders 5-2. Philly had a record of 13-12-4. Down 1-0, the Flyers got a pair of goals from Keith Primeau and never trailed after that. Kevin Stevens (1-2-3) led Philly in scoring. The Flyers held a 40-18 shot advantage, JVB played goal for NY.
February 1, 2001 -- Roman Cechmanek made 22 stops (just one in the first period) and Eric Desjardins' early third period goal snapped a scoreless tie (Mark Recchi added an ENG) in a 2-0 victory for the Flyers.
December 4, 2001 -- The Flyers unleashed a 40-shot attack and won 3-2 on Keith Primeau's third period PPG. Brad Isbister was penalized for slamming Eric Desjardins into the boards; the hit cut Desjardins above an eye. Chris Osgood made 37 saves.
December 6, 2001 -- Mariusz Czerkawski scored twice in the first period in NY's 2-0 win in Philly. Garth Snow made 33 saves for the shutout.
February 12, 2002 -- Michael Peca scored an unassisted SHG with 8.7 seconds left in OT and Garth Snow, who was penalized in OT for delay of game, made 25 saves in NY's 1-0 win in Philly. NY killed all eight Flyers' PPs. The Flyers killed all six NY PPs including a four-minute penalty to Keith Primeau with about 5 1/2 minutes left in regulation. Adrian Aucoin played over 35 minutes for NY.
October 26, 2002 -- Philly scored twice in the opening 31 seconds to set a team record for fastest two goals to start a game; it was the third fastest 2-0 lead in NHL history. They had five first period goals in a 6-2 win. Eric Weinrich (0-3-3), Jeremy Roenick (2-0-2) and Michel Handzus (2-0-2) led the Flyers.
January 9, 2003 -- Roman Cechmanek made 24 saves in a 4-0 win as the Flyers scored twice on turnovers in the Islanders' zone. There were two fights in the first 2:16: a brief Donald Brashear-Eric Cairns clash and a much lenghtier Todd Fedoruk-Eric Godard battle.
February 4, 2003 -- The Flyers won 2-1 in Uniondale but Simon Gagne suffered a groin injury and missed 29 of the next 31 games. Mark Recchi's PPG midway in the third period was the GWG.
November 29, 2003 -- Philadelphia scored five goals in the second period in a 5-1 win. The last three goals came in the final six minutes of the middle period. John LeClair (1-1-2) was the only player with a multiple-point effort; 12 others players had one point.
December 20, 2003 -- Jim Vandermeer scored twice in the Flyers' 3-1 home win. Each team had 19 shots. The Flyers were kept off the scoreboard for the first 36+ minutes.
December 23, 2003 -- Garth Snow made 34 saves and Arron Asham scored twice in NY's 4-2 home win. The Flyers began the third by scoring twice to take a 2-1 lead but Asham's first goal tied the score and then Jason Blake scored a the GWG on a PP with five minutes left in the period.
January 22, 2004 -- Mattias Timander sent to the Flyers for a draft pick.
April 4, 2004 -- In the season finale, the teams skated to a 3-3 tie in Uniondale and the Flyers became Division Champions. The tie, coupled with the Devils' loss to Boston, lifted the Flyers past New Jersey (101 to 100 points) and a first round matchup with the Devils. Keith Primeau won 18 of 22 faceoffs. Wade Dubielewicz made 33 saves and the Islanders went 3-for-4 on the PP.
October 15, 2005 -- Philadelphia had 46 shots against Garth Snow in a 5-1 win. The Flyers led 4-1 after one period and went 2-for-12 on the PP while NY went 1-for-9 on the man advantage. Donald Brashear and Eric Godard hooked up in a solid fight with Brashear being cut:

Antero Niittymaki made 38 saves. Jeff Carter had three points. NY outshot Philly 20-5 in the first period and sixteen seconds after the Islanders scored their second goal, Arron Asham (NYI) fought Mike Richards. The Flyers then out-scored NY 2-0 in the middle period and 1-0 in the final period.
November 26, 2005 -- Jason Blake scored three times and Garth Snow made 34 saves in NY's 4-2 win at Philly. R.J. Umberger scored two first period goals.
November 29, 2005 -- Down 3-1 about midway through the contest, the Flyers' Simon Gagne (2-1-3) scored the tying goal and go-ahead goal in a 4-3 victory. The Islanders appeared to have evened the game on a possible Brent Sopel goal with 1.1 seconds to play but a video replay confirmed that referee Stephane Auger blew his whistle which stopped the play. The video replay was inconclusive as a mass of bodies and sticks was in the crease. Afterwards, Islanders' coach Steve Stirling, who said he couldn't tell if it was a goal or not, said "I didn't have the heart to say to him (Auger) why did he waste all that time going up top if he had blown the whistle and made the final decision?"
February 8, 2006 -- Mike Richards delivered an incredible performance, despite multiple injured teamamtes, as he notched a hat trick in a 5-2 win. Of the seven goals scored, six came via special teams including two SHGs by Richards who tied a franchise mark with that feat. It was the Flyers' 1,500th regular season win. The Flyers were missing seven players including Peter Forsberg, Simon Gagne, Keith Primeau and Kim Johnsson. Eric Desjardins returned to the lineup after missing the previous 29 games.
March 4, 2006 -- Chris Campoli scored on the PP in the third period and NY skated to a 4-2 win.

December 20, 2006 -- Mike York was traded to Philadelphia by the Islanders for Randy Robitaille and Philadelphia's 5th round choice (Matthew Martin) in the 2008 Entry Draft.
January 2, 2007 -- Robert Esche had 40 saves and the Flyers withheld a NY rally to win 3-2. Kyle Calder and Ryan Potulny added third period goals that gave the Flyers a 3-0 lead but the Islanders scored twice within 33 seconds in the 17-minute mark.
January 18, 2007 -- Mike Sillinger snapped a third period tie in NY's 4-2 road win in Philadelphia. Sillinger's goal came on a 5-on-3 PP.
February 7, 2007 -- Rick Dipietro made 27 saves in NY's 2-0 home win. Antero Niittymaki made 35 saves.
February 27, 2007 -- The Islanders blew a 4-1 first period lead but recovered with an OT goal by Trent Hunter with 31 seconds to play. Jason Blake had a first period hat trick and four points in the game.
March 24, 2007 -- Andy Hilbert scored with 4:40 remaining in NY's 4-3 win. Martin Biron made 30 saves in the loss. NY outshot Philly 17-5 in the opening period but the score was 1-1. Jason Blake scored with 1:14 to play in the second period to knot the game at 3-3.
April 7, 2007 -- Wade Dubielewicz, subbing for the injuured Rick Dipietro, made 28 saves in NY's 4-2 win in Philly. The Islanders led 3-0 but after Simon Gagne scored in the second period, Mike Richards added a SHG with 1:02 left in the third period to bring the Flyers to within 3-2. NY added an ENG. Derian Hatcher played in his 1,000th NHL game.
October 13, 2007 -- Martin Biron made 29 saves and Jeff Carter broke a scoreless tie in the second perio in Philly's 3-1 home win.
November 12, 2007 -- Mike Richards' third period SHG snapped a 2-2 tie and gave the Flyers a 3-2 win. Scottie Upshall had the other two goals.
January 19, 2008 -- Scott Hartnell had a hat trick in a 5-3 win. The Isles led 3-1 after the first period.
February 12, 2008 -- Trent Hunter had three points in NY's 4-3 home win. Antero Niittymaki made 43 saves in the loss. NY outshot Philly 47-29.
March 1, 2008 -- Martin Biron made 33 saves and Mike Knuble had three points in Philly's 4-1 win at NY.
March 8, 2008 -- Scott Hartnell scored two of the Flyers' four PPGs in a 4-1 home win. Martin Biron made 32 saves. The Flyers went 4-for-7 on the PP and killed all five disadvantages. Kimmo Timonen and Braydon Coburn each had three points.
March 23, 2008 -- Daniel Briere had three points and Martin Biron made 32 saves in the Flyers' 4-1 home win.
March 29, 2008 -- Daniel Briere netted the only goal in the shootout leading the Flyers to a 4-3 road victory despite 51 saves by usual reserve netminder Wade Dubielewicz. Mike Richards, who had 11 shots, tied the game with 4:22 left in the third period. The Flyers outshot NY 54-30 including 23-7 in the second period. The Flyers won all four contests against the Islanders in March 2008.
October 30, 2008 -- Martin Biron made 34 saves and Jeff Carter scored the GWG on the PP at 4:37 of overtime to lead the Flyers to a 3-2 home victory. It was Carter's second goal of the game and eighth of the season. Simon Gagne added two assists.
November 11, 2008 -- In a Veterans' Day matinee, the Flyers won 3-1 at NY. Daniel Briere snapped a scoreless tie with 6:30 left in the second period and them Mike Richards scored a key SHG in the middle of the third period to lead the Flyers' offense. Martin Biron made 35 and backed a PK that was 8-for-8.
