http://hurricanes.nhl.com/FLYERS' NOTES AND QUOTES:The Flyers are 10-1-3 in the last 14 games.
Jeff Carter's total of 20 goals in 27 games is the seventh-fastest in Flyers' history.
Simon Gagne on the possible addition of Mats Sundin: "I like the team we have here, but if you have a chance to get one of the best players in the league in the past 10 or 15 years you need to do it. He's definitely one of the top players I've played against and he can make a difference in a hockey game, especially in the playoffs."
Riley Cote on his five-stitch cut after fighting Mitch Fritz: “It comes with the territory. My modeling career is long gone.”
John Stevens on Lasse Kukkonen: "He's been tremendous. He seems to create offensive opportunities for our team, and he doesn't get [many] scoring-chances-against when he's on the ice. He pushes the pace in practice every day and has great enthusiasm. He kind of sets the example for the guys who are out of your lineup - that if you do the extra work and stay ready, you can come in and be a good player."
Mike Knuble is one point away from 400, two goals away from 200, and three goals from 100 with the Flyers.
Riley Cote snapped a 31-game point skid when his key play set up Arron Asham's first-period goal. Cote's last point came February 28 against Ottawa.

What Carle is suffering from, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren revealed Tuesday night, is an "intercostal" tear somewhere in his ribs. It's a muscle that goes between the ribs and can wrap from the front to the back. Apparently, the pain Carle is experiencing is in the middle to lower back and it's just not getting better. In fact, Carle said he still doesn't feel any better after missing four games.
48 Danny Briere is expected to miss about 4-5 weeks from December 3. From Paul Holmgren: "Danny had an MRI today (December 3) on his stomach and groin area. There weren't any issues at all with his stomach but there is a significant groin strain in there and we're looking at Danny to be out of the lineup for 4-5 weeks."
77 Ryan Parent (shoulder surgery) was expected to be out about 12-14 weeks from early October and is on injured reserve. UPDATE: Practiced with the team for the first time, November 25. He could return in late December.
